The Boogie Man

It’s kind of….  “funny….,” the masks some desire to wear, no matter the reason, in this virtual space.  We know our reasons.  Just because someone wears a mask doesn’t mean they are guilty of some wrong doing.  That mask may be what’s holding them together.  It could be their temporary crutch.  It could be the strength they want to hide behind.  It could be their hiding space from guilty feelings.  It’s always a facade, regardless of reason, and we all know what they say about true colors and truth prevailing and shit.

Be wary my friends.  The wolf once presented himself as fellow sheep. 😉

“Man is least himself when he talks in his own person.
Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.”

  1. I LOVE this! It’s soooo true, and all those we meet sitting behind a computer screen are automatically given a ‘mask’ to hide behind, should they wish. Time shows their true self… and lets us choose which one to embrace as a friend, or which to RUN THE HELL AWAY FROM! *chuckles* Great blog, dear friend!

    • Good point! I actually wrote this 3-4 days ago, reflecting on things I’ve recently been through and the times I’ve worn masks myself. I think our masks can be used to better ourselves for a time too; used as armour, if you will, and allow healing behind. Tricky and fine line though, eh?
